This project was created in 2005 at two Hydro facilities in Neuss, Germany, and Rafnes, Norway. Entering the plant transports the mind to a parallel dimension, reflecting a world where science and emotion meet.
The titles for the individual images emerged from expressions shared by workers during conversations at both plants. While the Norwegian plant was expanding into new areas, the German plant faced considerable financial challenges.
The final TRANSITOR sequence consists of 18 large-format images. It was shown in Oslo’s Frogner Park as part of a public exhibition together with works by 20 other artists, marking Hydro’s 100th anniversary.
